I bought these after ending up with trench foot from a previous race. I was a bit sceptical, but thought they better than nothing for my next one. I ended up ankle deep in mud and water at points and thought I could feel water coming through the socks. How wrong I was! My feet were slightly damp just from my feet working hard. Not a single drop of water or mud got through. My socks and trainers were soaked but my feet protected and could slip a clean pair of socks and trainers on without having to dry my feet first. Will be back for another pair!
My new Hemy socks were fantastic in the snow, especially as my walking boots are no longer waterproof, I wore a pair of thin running socks underneath for that extra warmth, my feet were totally dry when I got home, more than I can sat for my soggy boots.

Great comfy waterproof socks
Used my Hemy Socks on a reasonable long hike on Saturday in leather hiking boots. They are comfortable and water resistant. Would like to test them under bad weather conditions. Hiking or running in wet feet isn't great. I'm glad that I bought them.
Oh my God! I love these socks. I bought them after reading a review in women's running magazine and they are my favourite running purchase so far this year. Other reviewers are correct, you feel the initial cold of the water and mud that cakes your trainers but after a few minutes your feet get all toasty again. I ran through the woods today and got good and dirty through the sloppy muddy sections. My feet were absolutely dry at the end! Get the socks, they're the best.
After a wet and muddy 18 miles on Saturday I am not convinced these are fully waterproof but although my feet felt cold they were clean when I took the socks off so maybe they are...
I’m training for a 100k ultra in the Lakes District and don’t want wet feet for hours and hours. I was a little sceptical as to how good these were. They’re brilliant! So comfortable. Breathable. I was a little concerned that these socks would be too thick and neoprene-like to run in. However, they are proving to be very comfortable and do not make my trail shoes feel any tighter. They are certainly waterproof and although I feel the initial cold of muddy puddles my feet stay dry and warm.

I bought Hemy socks as I have recently started doing a parkrun on a Saturday morning and they can be muddy and wet! The socks are great. Although you can feel the coldness of the water coming in your shoes initially, your feet stay dry and warm. They are quite thick so you need to allow room for them when buying shoes.

I have a few pairs of Water Proof socks from other brands and the bonus of Hemy’s is that they are thinner than most. Mine arrived late this week and I wore them straight out of the pack for the East Hanningfield trail marathon which was so wet it needed a diversion. Teamed with my Slab pulsar SG’s they provided a winning combo. Not at all phased by frozen ankle deep puddles and shoe sucking bogs. I peeled them off at the finish to reveal feet that were in great condition for 26 miles of proper cross country running. Well done guys.
Walking in the dark with dogs and hitting a puddle in trainers isn't fun, however these are a game changer. I can't always be bothered to stick wellies on especially on a long walk, and now with these I don't need to. Done 9 miles on one trek, dark and off track, drenched by the end but my feet were still dry. Incredibly comfy. Absolutely would recommend.
